4/7/08 -Orinda Magic Blue and Red Teams will play in the 6th Annual Sac-Town Spring NCAA Showcase
April 18-20 at Cosumnes River College. Last spring over 60 NCAA DI and
DII coaches, along with NAIA & Junior College Coaches attended, and

3/27/08 - This weekend's brackets for the Stockton Mustangs Tournament are up and on your team's page. The Red Team, the Gold Team and the Bronze Team(6th grade) will all be playing this weekend.

1/11/08 - Are you ready to make the commitment to take your game to the next level? Tryouts for Orinda Magic
spring and summer teams are nearly upon us. 6th, 7th, and 8th graders
have registration and their first evaluation on Saturday, Feb. 9 at
Wagner Ranch in Orinda. High school players have registration and first
evaluation on Saturday, March 1 at Wagner Ranch. If your high school
season is still going on March 1, simply contact Darrell Hirashima Jr.
and inform him that you want to tryout when your season ends. Darrell

8/9/07 - The
summer season has come to a close, and Orinda Magic players now look
forward to their high school seasons as the hoop cycle continues to
roll forward.
8/1/07 - The Orinda Magic Black Team had a dominant run this summer,
starting out July going 4-2 at the End of the Trail tourney in Oregon
City, OR. The team followed up with a second place finish at the River
City Classic in Memphis, TN, and playing to 4-1 records at both the
Showtime National Championships in Atlanta, GA and the Grand Finale in
Orange County, CA.
6/23/07 - The Black and Red teams are participating in the Race Express tournament at City College of San Francisco. Check back for news on the results.
4/3/07 - Orinda Magic forward Denesha Stallworth was chosen as one of 36 nationally selected girls to participate in the 2007 USA Basketball Youth Development Festival
in June. The event will be held in Colorado Springs, CO at the U.S.
Olympic Training Center June 13-17. Coming off a sophomore season in
which her Pinole Valley High School team went to the Nor-Cal Finals
Championship game, the 6'2" Stallworth
is gaining national attention as one of the most promising post players

The Orange Team (5th grade) won the first title of Sunday, coming from 10 points behind in the first quarter to eventually win by three after Maddy Miller banked in the game sealing basket in the final seconds of the game. MORE
The Purple Team (formerly Blue-Travis) was the next Magic team
The final 1st place trophy of the day was handed out to Courtney Johnson Clendinen's Blue Team, who defeated Strictly Hoops-Black, North Bay Chicks and Pacific Storm
to earn the championship in the other Varsity Bracket. The team's
flurry of quick guards was spearheaded at the point of attack by
tourney MVP, Ebony Richardson, who overwhelmed opposing guards with her quick feet and slick moves. MORE
The Red Team finished in the Final Four of their bracket at the "California Classic" with wins over VGB, Pacific Fury and OC Elite Black-15. Throughout the weekend, deadly outside shooting from Alex Smolen and Taylor Rojas complemented the strong inside play of Chelsey Christensen as the team came within a mere two points of the championship round in their loss to The Wood. The Black Team
had their work cut out for them when they advanced to the Final Four of
the Invitational Division at the "California Classic." Matched up
against eventual tourney champs, FBC Blue, who has been ranked by many as the top club team in the nation, the Orinda Magic showed exactly why they've earned their own place in that very conversation. After leading for the majority of the game, the Magic gave up a run to FBC in the final quarter giving FBC enough edge to pull out the victory, 46-39. MORE
11/6/06 - The Orinda Magic Silver Team took first place at the Bay Area Hoops Tournament in Alameda last weekend, 11/4-11/5.
9/22/06 - The Orinda Magic Silver And Bronze Teams have completed tryouts. New rosters will be posted by next week.
Both teams practice this weekend and play in their first tournament
next weekend. Check your schedules to stay up to date with what's
going on.
7/7/06 - The Orinda Magic Black Team is playing well at the End of the Trail Tournament in Oregon City. First handling Idaho Elite72-37 in the opening round, then defeating Team Concept 70-59 in an exhibition game last night. This morning, the Magic kept up their solid play with a 74-61 win over former National Champion, Texas Express. A win tonight will put the Magic Black Team in the semifinals of their bracket.
The Blue Team will now battle for 6th place of the Black Bracket at the End of the Trail. After a strong opening game against Puget Sound Flight Blue, the Magic Blue Team fell to a strong Cy Fair Elite team. The Magic face off against Basketball BC 17 Bluetonight, and attempt to regain their momentum midway through the tourney.
The Magic Red Team heads to the other OC, Orange County, to compete in the Cal Swish Summer Shootout, July 10-12. The OC Magic and SoCal Red will be the first challengers to the Orinda Magic, and the team is ready to take the challenge head on.
6/28/06 - Brackets
for Oregon City have been posted and links to Black, Blue and Red
team's respective brackets are on each team's page. The Red Team will
be the first team to head up, facing Kamiak of Washington State in a
10:15 a.m. showdown this Friday.
6/6/06 - Practice
on Tuesday 6/13 has been updated for Red and Blue Teams. Black Team
will scrimmage with EBX and Pacific Pistols on Thursday 6/14.
5/31/06 - The
Purple Team qualified for the 14U AAU National Tournament with a solid
finishing performance at the Super Regionals in Reno, NV last weekend,
May 27-29. The team will head south, landing in Lafayette, LA on July
24-31 to compete against many of the best teams in the country, in what
promises to be the toughest challenge of the year.
